EMERGENCY RESPONDING SERVICES
We can be with you if an unplanned care requirement arises. If you live alone at home and are at risk of falls or if you have concerns about safety due to being alone, our emergency responding service may be for you.
You may have planned care from other agencies but what if you needed assistance in an unplanned situation? Relatives or loved ones may not be able to attend at all times.
By using assistive technology like care-call, we can be with you if an unplanned care need arises:
- After an initial assessment, we will arrange to install a device at your home (e.g. care-call). You can also get a pendant or wrist strap so that help is with you at all times.
- If you need urgent care, all you need to do is to push the button. You will be put through to a call centre who will answer your call promptly.
- If we are your first responders, our staff will attend to you if this is considered as required. The Call centre will know who is calling even if you are unable to speak.
Our responders are on standby and are not engaged in other routine tasks (other than responding to clients). Our responders are specifically trained to respond to events and unplanned care needs. Staff carry the CAMEL system (complete air moving elevating lift) to help lift you off the floor, if this is needed.
Our responders are not medically trained. If you have a medical emergency please contact your Doctor or dial 999. We help around 400 service users in the region. Why not let us help you? Our responding service often helps to avoid unnecessary admissions to hospital.
